The platform was developed to solve a common problem in the cosmetics industry: determining whether a product is still fresh and safe to use. Many cosmetic manufacturers encode manufacturing information inside batch codes rather than displaying clear production dates. Check Batch Code simplifies this process by allowing users to enter a batch code and instantly receive manufacturing and expiration-related information. The platform serves consumers, beauty retailers, skincare enthusiasts, and cosmetic resellers who need quick access to product age and freshness data.

The Challenge

Problem & Goals

One of the primary challenges was building a system capable of supporting hundreds of cosmetic brands, each with different batch code formats and decoding rules. The platform also needed to deliver accurate and easy-to-understand results while maintaining a fast and responsive user experience. Managing brand-specific logic, search performance, and scalability for a growing database of supported brands required a flexible backend architecture.

The Solution

How I Solved It

The platform was developed using Next.js for the frontend and backend services, creating a unified full-stack architecture. A custom batch code processing system was implemented to support hundreds of cosmetic and fragrance brands. The user experience was optimized to allow visitors to quickly search for brands, enter batch codes, and receive relevant product manufacturing information through a simple and responsive interface.
